全文內容: 　　本文主要以二十世紀的發展理論與孫中山的國家發展理論作一對比，以突顯孫中山思想的中庸特質及其在當代國家發展上的參考價值。
　　整個二十世紀中，全球經濟上有所謂南北議題爭議，在政治意識形態上則有東西冷戰對抗。在此背景下，無論在社會科學或文化理論上都有左右兩派理論，不斷進行辯論。右派包括現代化理論與（主流）全球化理論；左派則依序為依賴理論、世界體系理論與後殖民主義等。這兩個軸線上，在有關「全球脈絡」（或國與國關係）的分析以及「國家發展」等概念上都十分尖銳對立。
　　孫中山所處的背景係以十九世紀世局為主。而十九世紀的政治經濟結構頗似二十世紀：亦即，中葉分別是英國及美國獨霸為（hegemony）狀態；後期則逐漸走向多頭的對抗（rivalry）。此導致本世紀的開發中國家再度面臨類似一世紀前的課題，這些課題皆包含在相關的發展理論之中。本文主要目的即在於簡要釐清全球局勢與學術理論的發展脈絡，並比較其與孫中山思想論點之同異，從而彙整孫中山思想中兼容並蓄的特質，彰顯其時代意義與價值。

全文內容: 　　This thesis is a contrast between the national development theory of the 20^th century and the theory of Dr. Sun, Yat-Sen. It is to manifest the feature of Dr. Sun's seeking of the Middle Path as well as its value to be referred to modern National Development.
　　Since the 20^th century, there have been North-South inequality arguments concerning global economy, while West-and-East cold war in terms of political ideology. With that, the debates of Rightists and Leftists are consistent with social science and culture theories. The Rightists include modernization theory and globalization theories. The Leftists, in sequence, are dependence theory, world system theory, and postcolonialism, etc. The debate between the Rightists and the Leftists is very keen about globalization (state-to-state) analysis and national development.
　　Dr. Sun lived in the 19^th century, when political-economical structures are similar with those in the 20^th century; namely, the middle period of the century was a time of hegemony by the Britain and the States respectively, while the later period was gradually into a multi-head rivalry, which led to developing countries again faced with issues similar with those existing one century earlier. Those issues are all included in relevant development theories. The object of this thesis is to briefly clarify world situation and development of academic theories, compared with Dr, Sun's thoughts, thereby underlining Dr. Sun's wisdom of collecting world thoughts and its contribution to the modern times.
