Abstract

To General Homer LeaMay 24,1910 HonoluluMy dear General Lea:I am going to leave this Islands for Japan on the 30th this monthby S.S. Mongolia. I shall stay there for a while to wait for news fromyou and at the same time to do what I can to prepare the way forthe future.I jsut received information from China that some of our com-rades have already taken measure to secure concessions for cul-tivation from French authority in Kwang Chow Wan before theyknow anything of our proposition out here. The French govern-ment there are inviting anyone to go and develope the land, eachapplication for concession will give three acres of land. But appli-cation must be sent three months before any answer is given.I am also informed that there is a certain firm in Hong Kongwho would undertake to supply any kind of arms and will guar-antee to deliver any part in the coast of Kwangtung Province thusit will save us a good deal of trouble of transporting the arms our-selves. If we arrange to buy from that firm, goods can be deliveredto the spot where we need before we pay the price. This is the mostsure and convenient way, if we could succeed in raising the loanin America, I should like you to see this Hong Kong firm first beforewe enter into contract with any others. We may use the Hong Kongfirm either as a whole supplier or as merely a transporter. For theyhave ships and godowns in every port in the Far East as well aslicense to carry and store arms legally to and in anywhere.My temporary address in Japan is as follows: Y.S. Sun, c/o Mr.K.H.
